Cat Calorie and Meal Calculator
Enter your cat’s details to get a daily calorie goal. The tool then turns it into cups, cans, or grams of food. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.
Your results will appear here.
Estimate only. Kittens that grow slowly, pregnant or nursing cats, and cats with kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, or a score of 7 or higher need a vet’s plan.
How each input changes the result
- Weight sets resting energy. The formula is 70 × kg0.75.
- Life stage picks the factor. Kittens use 2.5 or 2.0. Spayed or neutered adults use 1.2, intact adults 1.4, and seniors 1.1.
- Activity multiplies adult needs by 0.9, 1.0, or 1.2. Kittens skip this step.
- Body condition score estimates ideal weight. Each point above 5 adds about 10 percent extra weight.
- Goal changes the plan. Weight loss uses 0.8 times resting energy at the ideal weight. Weight gain adds 20 percent.
- Food calories convert the goal into cups, cans, or grams.
What this calculator cannot do
It cannot see your cat. Two cats with the same weight can differ by 20 percent in real needs. Treat the result as a trial amount. Weigh your cat every two weeks and adjust by about 10 percent. For help scoring your cat, read the body condition score guide.
